About Salty Snack
Salty Snack offers insights on current trends, inventions, and discoveries in science and technology, and tries to draw connections (real or imagined) among them. My objective is not to provide complete coverage of science and technology news–there are already many excellent sites for that–but rather to highlight what I find particularly interesting, unusual, or relevant, offering my readers somthing to ponder and share.
I have over a decade of experience in the online industry, at both the startup and corporate levels. I am currently working as an independent Web consultant and writer while staying home with my young son. Before that, I was vice president at a FORTUNE 100 financial firm, developing and implementing marketing and business strategies for several key online initiatives. Among my other responsibilities, I wrote and published a weekly newsletter on trends in global online financial services that was read by senior executives and others across the firm. I have a BA summa cum laude from Wellesley College in astronomy and medieval studies, and an M.Phil from Oxford University in history.
Now I write and publish while taking care of my toddler, traveling with my partner, and occasionally dangling from a rope above large rocks. If there weren’t so many of them already, I’d also write a food blog. Nevertheless, I hope you find something tasty here.
